PROJECT SCOPE:

Brand Refresh & Announcement Communication Plan


The Challenge:

  • To refresh the organization’s visual brand identity to better communicate its value proposition.

  • To create exposure for the Centre’s new facility and location, newly appointed Executive Director, and Business of Excellence Award win.

Firefly Junction worked with the Women’s Centre of York Region for a brand refresh including new logo design, tagline and messaging. Here you see their website with the Excellence Awards which they were trying to leverage for publicity.

Our Approach:

  • Oversaw a brand refresh including new logo design, tagline and supporting key messages. Developed a (secondary) 40th Anniversary logo and related image assets.

  • Conducted a marketing communications audit and subsequently produced fundraising communications and marketing tools including stationery, infographics, brochures and banners.

  • Media relations strategy including press releases and outreach to secure editorial coverage.

  • Worked with local Chambers of Commerce to secure opportunities to promote Centre initiatives.

  • Developed a strategic ‘win strategy’ to leverage the Centre’s Business of Excellence Award.

The Result: 

  • The updated brand identity was widely adopted across all corporate platforms and served to modernize and better communicate the Centre’s vision and mission. New marketing assets helped to raise the profile of the Centre and provided staff, volunteers and Board members with tools to share the Centre’s purpose and impact.  

  • Key messaging and communications effectively articulated the impact of the Centre in the community and the need for private and corporate donation to augment government funding.

  • Sponsorship agreements with regional media served to raise the profile of the Centre across York Region.
